This workshop given by Olga Krimon, award winning artist of the Portrait Society of America, is a fundamental course on using values, color temperature transitions and edges to define the head structure in a portrait sketch. All levels of painters are welcome. Each student will leave the course with an understanding of how to see and interpret information for any figurative work.
The workshop will start with an overview of the basic head structure points of reference and the fundamentals of value, temperature, edge and composition. Following will be a portrait demo from a live model demonstrating the principles outlined in the lecture. Students may start painting during the demo or wait until it is completed. For the remainder of the day, we will work in 20 minute sessions with 5 minute breaks that will include personal critiques and instruction.
There will be a one hour break for lunch. The fee for this workshop is $150. A list of materials will be provided shortly after registering.
There will be a fine art lecture following the workshop at 5 pm and viewing of a special exhibition >>>>>>>>
